Scott Joyce

Scott Joyce is President and Chief Executive Officer of Scott Joyce Design, Inc. He is responsible for overall creative conceptualization, design, business development and administration of the Company.
Prior to and during the establishment of Scott Joyce Design, Inc. in 1996, Scott worked as a junior architect in the Los Angeles office of Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates (HHPA). During his three years at HHPA, he focused mainly on the design of theaters, museums and universities. Scott's portfolio includes SOKA University of America in Aliso Viejo, California, Westmont College in Santa Barbara, PIMA University in Tucson and Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim. Scott has also been a host of the weekly radio program l.a.x:ray. This interview format program explored the rich diversity of art and architecture in Los Angeles.
Originally from Philadelphia and New York, Scott relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his Master's Degree in Architecture, which he received form the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). During his time at SCI-Arc, he was a two-time scholarship recipient and co-taught a class on Architectural History with noted architecture historian and author Margaret Crawford. His thesis, Every 11 Minutes, was published in 1997. In 2005, Scott appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, showcasing his project for actress Kirstie Alley. Scott's work has been featured in House & Garden, Metropolitan Home, Elle Decor, Better Homes & Gardens and InStyle. Scott is currently researching and writing a book on California Architect Gordon Kauffman which is scheduled to be published in 2010.
